Toilet Repair

Many toilet problems can be repaired without replacing the entire fixture. Trident Plumbing repairs common problems including failed fill and flush valves, leaking supply connections, worn seals, loose toilets and other components that prevent the toilet from operating properly.

Clogged & Backing-Up Toilets

A toilet that repeatedly clogs or backs up may have a problem beyond the toilet itself. When other fixtures are also draining slowly or backing up, the problem may be farther down the drain or sewer system. We diagnose the cause before recommending a repair.

Toilet Replacement & Installation

When a toilet is cracked, damaged, inefficient or no longer worth repairing, Trident Plumbing can remove the existing fixture and install a replacement. We can also install toilets for bathroom remodels, additions and new plumbing installations.

Signs Your Toilet Needs Professional Service

  • Toilet runs continuously
  • Water leaks around the base
  • Toilet rocks or moves at the floor
  • Frequent or recurring clogs
  • Weak or incomplete flushing
  • Tank or bowl is cracked
  • Water supply connection is leaking
  • Multiple fixtures are backing up

Toilet Flange Repair

A damaged or corroded toilet flange can allow the toilet to move, prevent the wax seal from sealing correctly and cause leaks around the base. Trident Plumbing can evaluate the flange and make the appropriate repair before resetting or replacing the toilet.

Repair or Replace a Toilet?

A toilet does not necessarily need to be replaced because it leaks, runs or has trouble flushing. Fill valves, flush valves, supply connections, seals and other components can often be repaired at considerably less cost than replacing the entire fixture. The condition of the toilet and the cause of the problem should determine the repair.

Replacement may make more sense when the bowl or tank is cracked, the fixture is badly damaged, repairs are becoming frequent or you want to upgrade an older toilet during a bathroom remodel. Trident Plumbing can explain the repair and replacement options so you can decide which makes sense for the situation.

Why Does My Toilet Keep Clogging?

Recurring toilet clogs can be caused by the fixture itself, an obstruction in the toilet trap or a problem farther downstream in the drainage system. If other drains or toilets are also slow or backing up, the problem may involve the building drain or sewer line rather than the individual toilet.

Problems at the Toilet Flange and Floor

A toilet that moves when you sit on it should not simply be tightened repeatedly. Movement can indicate loose mounting bolts, a damaged flange or problems with the flooring beneath the fixture. Continuing to use a loose toilet can break the wax seal and allow water to leak into the floor.

When we remove a leaking or loose toilet, we can inspect the flange and surrounding area before resetting the fixture. Correcting the underlying problem helps prevent the same leak or movement from returning after the toilet is reinstalled.
